Work with great people, travel, gain experience with many tech stacks - Senior Consultant Developer Thoughtworks Employee Review

Pros

The people are great. You'll make friends. As you go from project to project, you learn a lot about how different companies are organized, how their tech is structured. You'll gain a lot of insight into what works and what doesn't, and will take part in improving things. There are opportunities to work in other countries.

Cons

Staffing can be a crap shoot. Whether you're staffed on a great project in a great city (or where you live) or a so-so project somewhere you don't want to be is almost completely based on timing. Since retention isn't great, people will be leaving as they grow tired of the travel/consulting. No one stays at ThoughtWorks for the pay.

Pros

I've had a great experience building my career at Thoughtworks. One of the things that stands out most is the culture. It's collaborative, supportive, and filled with people who genuinely want to help each other succeed. Thoughtworks has also provided me with meaningful opportunities for career growth. I've been encouraged to take on new challenges, develop new skills, and explore different career paths. Leaders have been approachable and supportive, and I've always felt empowered to own my development rather than being confined to a single role. Like any organization, we’ve had our ups and downs. But the people and the commitment to continuous learning have remained consistent strengths. If you're looking for a place where you can grow professionally, work with smart and passionate people, and be part of a culture that values collaboration and innovation, Thoughtworks is a great place to build your career.

Cons

None that I can think of right now.

Pros

Great culture, very laid back and as long as you show up and get your work done you are meeting expectations

Cons

Very difficult to get any salary increases or promotions. Lived in fear of layoffs bc there were often not a lot of projects so I was often on the bench for months at a time
