Pros
- Classy office space conducive to productive collaborative work, and impresses customers (this is a big pro after you see so many better-funded startups in dingy environments smelling of take-out food - style does not come with money) - the CEO CG's vision and ability to rally the troops - humility and accessibility of everyone from CEO on down - vision and innovation way ahead of anyone in the space - Tidemark executed on built-in analytics, design and UX, collaboration and all the rest before enterprise companies were even aware of the need, and now it is standard talk for many companies. Prospects see this too. - business teams very collaborative across geos. - do all it takes to get customer successful - really cool product that is exciting to work on if you are in engineering/product etc - all the startup perks if you care about those (free lunches every day, snacks, foosball, massages and all that jazz)
Cons
- can't execute since CEO, engineering/product, marketing, sales and customer success are not pulling in the same direction - ridiculous politics starting at top - have not seen this level even in many larger companies - the engineering team was a mess and many leaders were not pleasant to work with - too much interference from the top - not always professional in dealings with employees, not transparent at all even though that is touted as a core value - top management seems to equate no-questions-asked/always agreeing to their viewpoint as a show of loyalty and belief in the vision
