Pros

Decent pay, great environment when in the office

Cons

On a regular basis, new workflows and processes are implemented under the guise of increasing employee productivity and efficiency, but they end up making things more tedious and time-consuming. It's all too obvious that those who establish the workflows and processes have never done the job before, so therefore don't know what they're asking.

As a dedicated Toaster, your input is incredibly valuable in helping us continue to improve, so we really appreciate you taking the time to share this feedback. As Toast scales, it's imperative that we develop processes and systems that enable our employees to do their jobs with ease and allow us to best support our customers. I know we are implementing a ton of change across the organization and, at times, it can feel saturating. We continue to invest in enablement and training for our teams to allow our CSers to ramp quickly, learn, and grow over time. Process and tools are a big priority for both my team and me right now. We know that if we focus on these two key areas, we will remove obstacles that are getting in your way. I am planning on hosting a series of roundtables in Onboarding and would love to hear from you directly. I would also encourage you to reach out to me via Slack so we can set up time 1x1. Feedback is a gift and it helps to make us better. Thank you for all that you do for Toast and our customers! - Emmanuelle Skala, SVP, Customer Success

Fantastic company culture and excellent, full support from a highly collaborative cross-functional team that genuinely wants to see enterprise deals succeed. Overall, it is well inclusive and supportive company culture.

Cons

Rapidly changing product landscape can occasionally make cross-functional alignment a bit complex.

Pros

The benefits and health insurance are amazing and the company culture as a whole is very positive. It was a pleasure to work with almost everyone I met in my time there.

Cons

Lower management, especially for care teams, deeply lacks integrity. Retaliatory practices, lack of communication, and failure to adhere to their own policies are very common behavior depending on who your manager is. The inconsistencies across what is expected from leadership are profound and it is disappointing how much this can derail your career trajectory at Toast. It’s also very difficult to help customers at times, as Toast is notorious for launching new products at customers and providing little to no support to agents that are then expected to troubleshoot using sparse or nonexistent resources and absolutely no training. Cross-collaboration with teams that occasionally intersect is also very challenging, particularly Sales/Onboarding and Care. There were many instances where sales and onboarding specialists set customers up with false expectations of the product, which leaves care teams to deal with the aftermath.
