Pros
Benefits are great and you have the opportunity to learn valuable skills. The 401k plan and medical benefits in particular are very good.
Cons
Pay is well below the industry standard for the state. Manufacturing employees are treated with contempt in spite of continually breaking output records, and though we are informed in meetings how much more our company makes each passing year, we have yet to see our pay reflect that. EHS is not concerned with safety, you have to fight for months to get them to evaluate a potentially hazardous situation and they do not perform emergency evacuation drills for manufacturing because apparently it is more important to continue production. Management makes very poor hiring choices and ends up alienating those who work hard by praising the lowest common denominator for working their way up to zero. Sexist comments are tolerated by HR and management.
