This is a fun place to work, but it is also quite taxing on your spirit and your patience. - Golf Services Associate Topgolf Employee Review

Pros

- I enjoy the fact that I'm encouraged daily to be loud, goofy, funny etc. - There are some managers that I have learned a lot from. - The training program does a great job of building you from the ground up with TopGolf culture, steps of service, etc. - I receive a lot of satisfaction from helping guests of TopGolf. - TopGolf is the first company I've worked for in a customer service capacity that makes me believe I can truly help a guest to the best of my ability, without being held back by a rigid standard operating procedure. - At the rate this company is growing, there is room for near-immediate promotion upon starting at any TopGolf site; especially new sites.

Cons

- Some managers do a poor job and for the most part I feel this goes unchecked. - You are expected to have a smile plastered on your face while on the clock. Just helping a guest is not enough. You are expected to remain at a 110% energy level throughout your shift. While not impossible, it is highly unlikely to achieve this. - While TopGolf does assist their guests to a fantastic satisfaction rate, some associates are seemingly thrown under the bus. Yes, I understand you must make the guest happy, but the guest does not have to come back the next day to earn a living. - There seem to be no concrete requirements for getting promoted to a supervisor or management role, which appears to mean that just "being liked" by senior staff will get you in. - In my experience, the hospitality managers do not take care of the staff nearly as well as the department heads or ops managers.

Pros

good work environment, was able to move up in the ladder. I started at guest services/food runner to food runner shift lead to platinum host to caddie and moved up to bay host.

Cons

bad with making sure you have time off approved.

Pros

Free golf, Flexible schedule, Good discounts on food.

Cons

What can I say? Horrible management, favoritism when it comes to scheduling and low team moral. For a place that preaches about culture and inclusion, there is literally zero. The effort most people put in is as useful as a cardboard cutout. Hard work is truly not valued and I would never recommend someone apply here. The company as a whole doesn't reward the people running the business and it shows by how they penny pinch the people on the front line who work for every dollar they make. Almost every month I would dread pre-shift meetings because we would learn about another way "it was better for us" when in reality, it was removing our opportunity to make tips and hiking up prices for guests. Also the way events were set up never benefited bayhosts, if it is positioned as a "luxury" experience autograt should be included so that all the work that goes into that experience before, during and after is seen. Overall stay away.
