Pros

Like any company, people come and go, teams change, but it seems there is always a passionate, hungry group of people working at Topstep at any given time. It doesn't feel like your typical 9-5 in a good way. The smaller company presents many opportunities to develop new skills, venture into new areas, and advance in your career in a significant way. I also appreciate our ownership structure; there are no VCs, just a passionate founder who wants to see you grow alongside him and the rest of our community. I imagine it would be hard to find another privately held tech company as far along as Topstep. Not to mention the company offers quarterly performance bonuses, which is the cherry on the sundae.

Cons

While it seems we are turning the corner, we have a long history of chasing the next big thing and neglecting our core offering. Although leadership has recently acknowledged and made plans to improve, we have some catching up to do. Also, it can be a bit emotional hearing about some of our traders' journeys to becoming professional traders. 100% of our trader recruits approach the day thinking they will be profitable; however, the journey to success is much longer than most anticipate.

Pros

- Free Swag - Cool yearly vacations/meetups - Remote, with fair amount of PTO

Cons

Promotions are rigid, you’re essentially forced down the (Senior) Trader Support path regardless of the experience you bring. This in turn limits your salary growth. Best roles are already taken, and your odds of landing one when someone leaves/retires are slim to none
