Pros

Good to trade for, not to work for

Cons

The recruitment and termination procedures at the company exhibit a lack of consistency, appearing to be influenced by immediate staffing needs rather than adhering to a structured and fair process. Disconcertingly, termination notices, promised during the hiring process, are not consistently provided, leading to financial uncertainty for affected employees. The termination process lacks transparency, with reasons for dismissals often unspecified, and accountability is shifted to upper management without clear justification. Additionally, there are indications of gender bias, as the company seems to display favoritism toward male employees. While the organization may be commendable for trading activities, it may not be an ideal workplace due to these aforementioned concerns.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with feedback; as a former employee, I am sure you are aware of our values and know that we embrace feedback as a means of growth, and no matter if the feedback is positive or constructive, it’s something we value. As far as Topstep’s termination procedures and policies, each and every situation is different, and we firmly believe every employee or former employee deserves privacy, therefore, details around any employee separation from Topstep, whether voluntary or involuntary, are kept minimal, while this might be seen as lack of transparency, we see it as allowing our team members to move on in privacy. Topstep saw unprecedented growth during the second half of 2023. We pride ourselves on living our values day in and day out. In this situation we were, specifically living our value of” We believe in and support the well-being of our team”. Due to the rapid growth, we knew that we needed to hire fast and ramp up fast for our team and to continue to provide world class support to our traders. In order to do that, we reached out to our community of traders, those who know the program and could onboard quickly as Trader Support Specialists. Our customer base and community is largely male-dominated, as is most of the trading industry. Therefore, there were a lot of male hires during this time, but in no way has Topstep ever displayed favoritism in the hiring process. We are very proud of the diverse team, we have created over many years, and we continue to live our values and seek diverse perspectives through hiring and our day-to-day at Topstep. We wish you nothing but the best in all your future endeavors. -Keep Jabbing, MP

Pros

- Free Swag - Cool yearly vacations/meetups - Remote, with fair amount of PTO

Cons

Promotions are rigid, you’re essentially forced down the (Senior) Trader Support path regardless of the experience you bring. This in turn limits your salary growth. Best roles are already taken, and your odds of landing one when someone leaves/retires are slim to none
