Pros

I like the fact we get to be paid hourly plus commission! I love working with the customers and love the customer service aspect I give them! Keep up with upcoming products and tend to need to be knowledgeable about the product. The discount is decent, so you're able to buy in store and online and the discount is automatically applied at checkout online.

Cons

The drama with management and upper management giving us unrealistic expectations with daily and monthly sales goal because it can be slow during the weekdays and usually busy on holidays and weekends. Does really good with sales per hour, cross-category selling, customer reviews, and follow-ups, however, tend to be on you about your performance review when it comes to selling which can be stressful and can give you a warning if you aren't making more money than the store. If the store isn't making its goal, they can double down on payroll and reduce hours if you're part time. Will have to keep up with tons of follow-ups about sales and promotions on a regular basis and generate sales. Always doing Tory U and have to take quizzes and watch lengthy videos that can cut into your selling time. I wish the drama would stop and other coworkers and management need to stop making a retail job their whole personality. Coworkers tend to be territorial about customers when it comes to selling. They worry about if you just greeted someone, it's not your customer. Let customers look around so we will be able to take initiative if they need any assistance in order to make the sale! They want to take "turns" but sometimes it can go out the window and you can be skipped over and they can take a customer and get the sale, so it can be discouraging. I wish the pay was more than the standard minimum wage, if you aren't scheduled that much, it can result in a low paycheck. The uniforms is nice, however, maybe update the uniform more and let associates express themselves more when it comes to nails and stop worrying about tattoos. I get we have to look a certain way to represent the company but it can be draining because they tend to dictate your appearance.

Pros

• Strong brand recognition and a loyal customer base. • Employee discount and sample sales are excellent perks. • Talented and hardworking teams across many functions.

Cons

• Work-life balance is extremely challenging, particularly at the leadership level. Long hours and constant availability are often expected rather than the exception. • The culture can feel transactional and driven by a "got you" mentality rather than collaboration, coaching, and development. • Favoritism and nepotism are noticeable and can create inconsistent standards across teams and individuals. • Leadership accountability is lacking. Expectations are often high, but accountability is not always applied equally across the organization. • Decision-making can feel political, with perception carrying more weight than actual performance or results. • There is a significant gap between the company's external messaging and the internal employee experience. While the brand publicly champions women and female empowerment, many employees may find that the internal culture does not consistently reflect those values in practice. • Transparency, integrity, and trust can be lacking, which contributes to an environment where employees may feel unsupported or undervalued.
