Pros

The environment is always upbeat and fun. A normal day includes footballs being thrown, nerf gun fights, and non-stop sports talk.

Cons

They do not divulge full information when you are going through the hiring process. What they don't tell you is that the base pay they offer you is only guaranteed until you get out of training. Then, you are put on a rigorous goals system that never seems to say "enough is enough". You are chastised if you do not reach 100 calls a day AND two hours of call time every day. Even when you hit those numbers, you're chastised for not having enough customers or making enough revenue on the loads you do get. The leads they give you are at least 50% disconnected numbers or companies that would never require the services provided. There is zero job security and even a very successful broker can be back on the chopping block if a customer is bought out or decides to take its business elsewhere. I was also lead to believe that the work/life balance would only suck for the first year. You are always on call with this job. If something goes wrong at 2am on a Saturday, you're expected to handle it. On vacation? Oh well. Honeymoon? Oh well. Don't get me wrong, you can definitely make a lot of money with this company. Just don't expect to have much of a life outside of work. Ever.

Pros

TQL gives me the opportunity to feel like an entrepreneur while still having the support and resources of a large company. I run my own book of business, build customer relationships, and have direct control over my success. The company's core values and principles align closely with my own, so it often feels no different than running my own business. The leadership team is another major strength. From management to executive leadership, there is a genuine desire to see employees succeed. As long as you're willing to put in the effort, stay coachable, and maintain a positive attitude, you'll find plenty of support, training, and guidance to help you grow both personally and professionally.

Cons

At the end of the day, TQL is a sales organization, and success requires a strong work ethic, resilience, and a willingness to go above and beyond for customers. The expectations are high, and the role can be demanding at times. However, if you're looking for a career in sales, that's the nature of the industry. For the right person, the challenge is more of an opportunity than a drawback. Those who are competitive, coachable, and willing to put in the effort can build a very rewarding career here.
