Pros
There is a slight possibility to make money after working 60 hours a week for the first year or two.
Cons
Can you say favoritism? At my office, the people making the good money were the ones who were gifted accounts. And what's frustrating is, they all act like they know something in the freight world when they know absolutely nothing. They act important when all they did was suck up or brown nose management. There's no trust between management and employees. If you have a "bad attitude" or they just simply don't like the broker you train under, management will overlook you for gifting accounts when someone quits. These "special" brokers don't pick up the phone and call at all, and leave their business to the trainee which is good at first while learning the account, but is infuriating when the broker is a complacent moron who didn't land the accounts himself. If you can hold out on this job for something else, I suggest going that route.
