Pros

Met a lot of great people in a new town.

Cons

Recruiter successfully scammed me through the door... congrats Was placed on a brokers account that literally treated me like a slave on a day to day basis. You literally are there to do the terrible task of negotiating with truckers all day long. Beating them down on price until you find the one poor soul willing to take the garbage rate you pay them. Then turn around and lie to your customers and add up to $1000 dollar margins. Then tell yourself that you are offering a "premium" service to help you sleep at night. That is only if you are so lucky to even land a customer that isn't aware of what trucks are actually getting paid! The age of the broker is quickly coming to an end. Many of the companies they ask you to prospect know exactly what the "truck rate" is, and they laugh at you when you try and overcharge them. Lunch breaks were extremely frowned upon, you are looked down upon if you don't stay late every day to prospect. Definitely just a revolving door of a company that will employ any tactic at its disposal to get some poor soul through the doors, then fill his head with talks of "uncapped earning potential" and proceed to spit them onto the streets after their 7-8 months of slave labor. There is some success, but you must truly be sucking up to the team leaders to make it these days. It is amazing how shamelessly favoritism is exhibited in the office. The people who suck up get the few terrible customers that become available after some burnt out rep decides that he has had enough. The whole company is on a dangerous path, hiring increasingly in an already saturated market. It really wouldn't take much of a technology break through to render TQL totally obsolete. Walking out of those doors was one of the most refreshing things I've done in years.

Pros

Money, Reward, Work-ethic, Culture, Friends This job is like farming. Every day you come in early, sow the seeds, water the grounds, and care for the farm until the sun sets. Then you wake up and do it again. You don't entirely control whether the crops grow - you're dependent on the sun and environment. However, you do control whether the crops die - if you refuse to water and to wake up early to nurture it. If you can sharpen your work ethic to optimize your work inputs (calls, conversations, leads, education, preparation), then you can make a reasonable bet that you will reap abundance just like the farmer makes the same bet. This was my chance to replace 3 jobs and finally have the opportunity to be paid according to my work ethic. And it is just that - it's not a job, not job security, it's not perfect, but it's an opportunity to change your life and make a lot of money and to be paid according to your work ethic. I've never seen more money than I have while working here. There are certainly some struggles, difficulties, and challenges, but it's nothing different than you'd find in other intense, high-reward, high-risk sales jobs.

Cons

Stress, Goals, Work Life Balance
