Pros
THIS IS ALL FOR SALES (accounting, carrier services, etc all operates differently): If you become successful... Big IF because only about 11% (varies on office location) you have the freedom to do as you please. They claim to have a great company culture and it's okay. It's okay for the Cincinnati marketplace but nationally it's very subpar. I did make a ton of money while I was there because I was one of the people "who made it" but it's not sustainable. You get 2 or 3 promotions that are unpaid yet your responsibility keeps doubling. They claim to "only promote from within" which is true because no individual would take a leadership level role without their comparable compensation. So they must promote from within to avoid fair compensation knowing that an employee cannot be at a company for 5 years without being promoted (looks bad on resume). Lastly, they are hiring every month so apply if you need a job... They have successfully tapped out of quality sales employees in the Cincinnati area so they rely heavily on the satellite offices for support. With the turnover rate it took them 16 years to wipe the Cincinnati market dry, I give it about 5-8 in other cities.
Cons
You are on call 24/7/365. They make you work Saturdays and Afterhours weekday shifts without extra compensation. In fact, they are in a class action lawsuit because of that right now. They expect you to answer your phone whenever TQL, customer or carrier calls regardless of the time, but they only give you $5+ per month as a cell phone stipend (depending on title). As I s aid before in the Pros section, only about 11% actually become successful. . It varies depending on location and sales team. That's ridiculous and their excuse is that it's comparable to lots of other sales roles. True or not, it's terrible. They target recent college grads, sit them with successful or rising brokers to show them how much money can be made. But good luck. I felt bad for all the grads we had starting each month with hopes of getting rich and see them quit 6 months later.
