Pros

The sales process is helpful. One of the floor managers is really good at his job, so if you're lucky enough to end up on his team you'll be in good hands. There's a lot of space in the new office.

Cons

You're basically working in a boiler room. I actually don't mind that experience, but it's how you're treated by management that made this the worst place I've worked. It's true it was voted one of the top places to work in Charlotte, but so was one of TSI's main competitors, and everyone at TSI trashes them. You are nothing but a number to upper management.. Especially at the end of the month, when everyone is scrambling to hit quota. The stress level turns up a few notches, because if you miss quota you take the chance of being fired. Sure, that's like many sales jobs and it comes with the territory, but I've seen them give up on a lot of good people after a very short amount of time. To demonstrate that the only thing you're based on is numbers, there are emails that go out every day showing every employee in the company and whether or not they're "compliant" with their KPIs. They use it as a motivator, but I can tell you that I was a pretty solid performer at TSI, and I found that email was intimidating and gave my coworkers the big brother effect. If you want to work for a company that runs by intimidation, TSI is a good place to start. Other cons: -No leads are provided, and no it is not normal in 2016 to have a tech company operate 100% on outbound leads. -Don't expect to be able to take any time off of work, even if you're sick, without being shamed. -Be prepared for the end of the month. This is when management starts panicking and stress levels go through the roof. -You'll spend a lot of time doing DPs that just waste your time. If they were actually helpful, these would be valuable, but they're usually another way to intimidate by having you roleplay in front of the entire company. If you don't do well, you'll be publicly chided by upper management. -The account management team is mostly made out of fresh college graduates who have never had to handle a customer before, so you end up with a lot of customer issues because of their inexperience.

Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review. We are sorry that your experience at Townsquare Interactive did not match our intention of being the best place you have ever worked. With this being an inside sales environment, we strive to have a great culture with high energy thus making Townsquare Interactive a great place to sell. Our sales representative role is a position that if you work hard, you will reap the benefits. The pressure turns up for everyone in sales no matter where you work at the end of the month if you haven’t paced yourself to hit your quota. The emails that go out that show if you are compliant are tools to help our reps. KPIs(Key Performance Indicators) are standard in sales to determine what’s working well and what we need to work on to get better. Our goal at Townsquare is to create a comfortable, collaborative and supportive environment for our employees. Intimidation is not the style management Townsquare Interactive promotes. We apologize you felt that way. We have an open door policy and would have loved to help you with your concerns if brought to our attention. Our management team knows every sales rep by name. We strive to make sure our sellers get the best of the best sales training, coaching and motivation needed to be successful on a daily basis. We reward every sale no matter what from the top down. In terms of providing leads, you’re right, we do not provide them. However, we take the time to teach each rep how to prospect and create call lists. This is a new business development sales position in which our reps must prospect, cold call, set appointments, run appointments and close business. We also have a team of sales development reps in place. This team is created entirely of entry-level sales reps that we teach how to cold-call and prospect. They set demos for senior sellers to close. So this in a way does provide some leads for our sellers. Our account management team on average has over 1 year of customer service experience. Townsquare Interactive also had a 96% client retention rate and our account management team is primarily responsible for this. Thank you again for taking the time to leave us your feedback.

Pros

If you can sell you can work here for about 7 or 8 months. If you don’t have a soul, you could see yourself here maybe 7 or 8 years. Some people go for 14 only to be spat out in an instant. I would only recommend it to those looking for a trial by fire in sales. If you end up working here just make sure you stay for a good time not a long time. It’s great if you wanna meet people after moving to Charlotte.

Cons

You know I go back in forth with these guys. I worked here in 2021 and 22 and only made it about 8 months. I did well there. Hit my quota consistently, even exceeded it. Was one of the best reps on my team, quickly. But after not too long I started to notice that the product wasn’t aligning to how I was trained. We were being told by sales trainers and managers one thing, when another was actually the case. Personally I had a big problem with that. I realized that what I was being paid to promote was a complete lie and that I was potentially taking advantage of small businesses. It got harder and harder the longer I stayed and eventually I found something a lot better. And then soon after leaving I posted this scathing review on here that I later took down because I thought hey maybe it’ll get better right? Well today I saw that their head of sales is all of a sudden leaving the company. And over the years I’ve watched as countless top reps, managers, and executives have all come and gone. Then you look at all these reviews over the years and they’re all the same. Nothings changed since I’ve been there it seems besides the people who speak the lies. The theme never changes and the people there the longest are the worst kind of people. People who are more than happy to take money from people who barely have any at all for something that will never work. If you’re that kind of person then get ready for an exciting next decade.
