Pros

Can't think of any, literally nothing comes to mind. Company "culture" is forced and feels very artificial. You are expected to think and operate within the hive mind if you want to achieve any sort of success. Even then, the goals/incentives they require you to reach are unobtainable.

Cons

This is the worst job I've ever had. If you lead an honest life with moral integrity, this is not the job for you. They will deceive you and any client they can get their hands on in order to attain money or a new title. They do not care about you, and don't let them convince you that they do. They will "train" you for 2-3 weeks on the brand/company, but really it's just a bunch of fake metrics and anecdotal information that is completely irrelevant to the job. They treat the training process like a popularity contest where a multitude of talking heads from different departments spout off about themselves, their achievements, and how awesome the company is (again, nothing pertaining to the actual job). After "training", you are assigned to a team and given an ever growing book of clients that you must provide service for. In the very beginning it's manageable, but they ramp up the amount of clients you receive at an uncomfortable rate (the expectation is that you are servicing 200+ businesses ALONE after your first few months). What they don't tell you is that a lot of these clients you receive are already disgruntled or want to cancel services, and the newest Digital Marketing Specialists must bear the brunt of their anger. And EVERYTHING will be your fault, even the things that are beyond your control. Your bonuses are NOT determined by the quality of service you provide, but instead how many clients you can retain. Let's face it: Townsquare's products and services are complete trash, and anyone with common sense wouldn't want to continue paying for services that don't provide results. The sales department will swindle a client with false dreams and empty promises in order to gain access to their banking information, which will ultimately be hijacked and held for ransom the moment they decide to cancel services (which they inevitably will). You will be reduced to a glorified telemarketer whose worth is based on how many people you pester for money. And if you don't call the same people every other day asking for payment on our lousy services, your managers will reprimand you and ask why. What kind of company rewards its employees based on how much they can steal and get away with? Clearly this is an ethical issue that has yet to be resolved. Don't fall for the ritzy Uptown office or the casual approach in the workplace. They are purposefully deceptive in their recruiting just like they are with everything else. You won't be compensated like they say you will, you will have to PAY TO PARK each and every day, and the only way you can ever achieve success at this business is by drinking the Kool-Aid and working yourself to the bone. Please heed this warning and all the others on here. Don't make the same mistakes we all did. I hope this helps.

Pros

If you can sell you can work here for about 7 or 8 months. If you don’t have a soul, you could see yourself here maybe 7 or 8 years. Some people go for 14 only to be spat out in an instant. I would only recommend it to those looking for a trial by fire in sales. If you end up working here just make sure you stay for a good time not a long time. It’s great if you wanna meet people after moving to Charlotte.

Cons

You know I go back in forth with these guys. I worked here in 2021 and 22 and only made it about 8 months. I did well there. Hit my quota consistently, even exceeded it. Was one of the best reps on my team, quickly. But after not too long I started to notice that the product wasn’t aligning to how I was trained. We were being told by sales trainers and managers one thing, when another was actually the case. Personally I had a big problem with that. I realized that what I was being paid to promote was a complete lie and that I was potentially taking advantage of small businesses. It got harder and harder the longer I stayed and eventually I found something a lot better. And then soon after leaving I posted this scathing review on here that I later took down because I thought hey maybe it’ll get better right? Well today I saw that their head of sales is all of a sudden leaving the company. And over the years I’ve watched as countless top reps, managers, and executives have all come and gone. Then you look at all these reviews over the years and they’re all the same. Nothings changed since I’ve been there it seems besides the people who speak the lies. The theme never changes and the people there the longest are the worst kind of people. People who are more than happy to take money from people who barely have any at all for something that will never work. If you’re that kind of person then get ready for an exciting next decade.
