Pros

I met some hardworking and talented people here. They were treated like garbage by the company, as we all were, but I suppose I would never have met them if it weren't for TSI.

Cons

Leadership preaches a "people first" approach and then turns around and prioritizes glitchy algorithms over human labor. When I started as a content writer, it was a point of pride that we didn't reuse content for different clients, that each website was uniquely created for the small business owners we represented. Then they stopped editing our work and just ran it through Grammarly. Then they started using ChatGPT's idiot cousin to churn out slop in the hopes that the clients wouldn't be able to tell the difference. In the past seven years, TSI has chipped away at the "people" part of the company in order to cut costs and, I guess, fail faster. That's on the wall of the office when you walk in: FAIL FAST. The idea is that if you make big moves and leap headfirst into your bold new ideas, you will learn fast and succeed via trial and error. Townsquare Interactive is failing. Not as fast as I'd like, but failing nonetheless. Every move they make to retain clients and disrespect employees just makes them seem more desperate. Clients do not get quality web content, and employees get belittled and crushed down into the mud. I spent five years of my life here and I wish to God I could get them back. This company does not care about hard work, creativity, quality or people. It is a blight to the good city of Charlotte and I look forward to its final dying gasp.

Pros

If you can sell you can work here for about 7 or 8 months. If you don’t have a soul, you could see yourself here maybe 7 or 8 years. Some people go for 14 only to be spat out in an instant. I would only recommend it to those looking for a trial by fire in sales. If you end up working here just make sure you stay for a good time not a long time. It’s great if you wanna meet people after moving to Charlotte.

Cons

You know I go back in forth with these guys. I worked here in 2021 and 22 and only made it about 8 months. I did well there. Hit my quota consistently, even exceeded it. Was one of the best reps on my team, quickly. But after not too long I started to notice that the product wasn’t aligning to how I was trained. We were being told by sales trainers and managers one thing, when another was actually the case. Personally I had a big problem with that. I realized that what I was being paid to promote was a complete lie and that I was potentially taking advantage of small businesses. It got harder and harder the longer I stayed and eventually I found something a lot better. And then soon after leaving I posted this scathing review on here that I later took down because I thought hey maybe it’ll get better right? Well today I saw that their head of sales is all of a sudden leaving the company. And over the years I’ve watched as countless top reps, managers, and executives have all come and gone. Then you look at all these reviews over the years and they’re all the same. Nothings changed since I’ve been there it seems besides the people who speak the lies. The theme never changes and the people there the longest are the worst kind of people. People who are more than happy to take money from people who barely have any at all for something that will never work. If you’re that kind of person then get ready for an exciting next decade.
