Pros

Excellect 401k program - dollar for dollar match up to 6% of pay plus they automatically contribute another 3% of your salary to an employee stock ownership program. Very easy to build-up a big nest egg. Medical/Dental/Vision also excellent and affordable (you can earn discounts on premiums by practicing a healthy lifestyle). Trane also allows for reasonable advancement opportunities. Immediate supervisors understand that you have a personal life outside work, and will accomodate within reason. Pay, in my opinion, is excellent compared to similar jobs in the industry. Finally, Trane is well respected in the industry, good brand, strong products.

Cons

Managment seems slow to react at times, competition often beats Trane out of the gates. Internal communication is adequate, but could be improved. Pay-range within a particular job description is farily narrow (for example, $50-55k) so the only real way to increase your earnings is to move up through the ranks. However, that being said, starting pay at Trane is above industry standards, so you won't exactly have to sacrifce while waiting to move up. The corporate structure is a bit suffocating at times, and there is not a lot of flexability in certain areas. Although, if you can win your supervisor over to a new idea, they will normally push to get it implemented.

Pros

Great work environment and work/life balance. I have the ability to manage my own work without micromanaging.

Cons

The process to be hired on directly from being a contractor was terrible. Backed me into a corner with a couple of days left on my contract and said to accept offer which was under what was communicated to me or basically i would not be working once my contract ended.
