Pros

Ingersoll Rand is making a genuine effort to take the cost out of building our products. From production point of view I really wish I could give more pros for the company. I have worked at Trane/Ingersoll Rand for 30 years. I have benefited from the Employee benefits and the current pay rate I have received. The company helped me to get myself and My family financially established by providing the finances for the basic things that we needed. Which gave me the opportunity to turn a hobby into a small business. I liked being able to go to worked at a designated time and getting off at a designated time. With the opportunity for overtime. Very seldom do I have to be away from my family during primetime and weekends. In most cases in was by choice.

Cons

I understand as a business man how important it is to cut cost. I also understand that one of the high drivers in cost is labor. The practices Ingersoll Rand is using to reduce labor cost is going to come back and hunt them in the long run. One of the major reasons for having a large number of employees with 20 plus years is because of the good pay and benefits we have been able to enjoy in the pass. Without those benefits in place it will be hard to keep good employees and in turn there will be an employment of people that will not be as dedicated as some in the pass. Therefore there will be a high turn around of employees which in turn will effect the quality of the product. I understand that there are some people and operations that I wouldn't want to pay over minimum wage to perform. But then there are some people that I believe the company should try and aggressively pursue rather that try and push them out the door because they make X amount of dollars.
