Pros

Flexible schedule for those where it's not required due to their job (i.e., customer service); ability to make decisions; my boss was not a micro manager and was very good to work for, but I would not say we had that at the top; good support and teamwork within my group

Cons

changing management; many leaving due to a constantly changing strategic direction of the company; many rounds of layoffs in the past few years and more to come this year and next as they work to reduce expenses even further; hiring many young employees without experience and putting them in positions they are not ready for; lowest employee morale I've seen in my many years there; difficult for people who have been there for years to obtain other positions within the company rather than being laid off due to hiring younger, less experienced, lower salaried people from the outside

Transamerica Response

As Transamerica continues on its path to develop new ways to interact with and serve the millions of individuals and families who rely on our financial solutions, there will be difficult decisions. Change is never easy and one of the most difficult aspects is saying "goodbye" to valued colleagues. We remain committed to this journey, however, and appreciate your feedback.
