Pros

Competitive pay, good life insurance and 401k package. Sr, management is strong and capable.

Cons

Poor remote working arrangements, poor exec leadership, lots of outsourcing, decision by exec leadership causing confusion, no transparency on decisions, poor health insurance. Poor advancement opportunities in recent years.

Transamerica Response

I wanted to start off by clarifying an important point on outsourcing. We have indeed outsourced the administration of some of our business. This was to provide an immediate impact on our ability to service our customers, while focusing on improving and upgrading our internal systems. We are very pleased that all those who were impacted received offers to join our partner and are excited for the opportunities they are being offered. It was important to us that our people were taken care of. We strongly believe that individuals have the opportunity to create their own career path, and we are here to help through training/development, career pathing. We want to provide our employees with opportunities first– this is why we advertise the majority of our positions internally prior to going public. I appreciate the time you have taken to provide feedback.

Pros

great account management team. Great bosses. pension. decent benefits. managers allow flexibility.

Cons

the account managers are the only ones held accountable. other departments don't answer emails for weeks, don't do their jobs and no one in upper management cares. directly effects account managers so you get yelled at by clients and brokers a lot. don't get paid enough to do the job of the account manager and take on the other departments work.
