Pros

None at this time for this company

Cons

First I think senior management woke up one day and said we need more power, so let's fire all the vice presidents and managers that disagree with us. They kept only the "Yes" managers. They got rid of some of the best, supposedly due to budget cuts, but I don't think so. They got rid of them because those people would stand up for what was right. They gave all of these managers one day notice to clear out. Can you imagine? A few of these men worked for this company for over 20 years. How did they get paid for their time? They were given the boot. Where is the job security? On a conference call we were told, all work at home collectors could not take their own payments. Instead we have to place them on hold and transfer the debtor to Manila, Philippines. He claims it will be a good thing and he expects fewer errors with the Manila workers than our 'on-shore collectors'! Translation: Philippine workers will do a better job than Americans according to Transworld senior management. The new right hand man, sure agreed, but what's new. Good way to sell giving our jobs to Philippines. Just another company giving our jobs overseas! On the last conference call, we were told we should be happy they are hiring 200 more Manila employees. This company gives us scripts for everything! If we dare to mess up, even just a little bit they write us up for it. We are told what to say, how to say, and when to say it. That is right; they try to control everything we do. This company is always threatening their employees. If management is not doing it, they have Human Resources ready to step in.

Pros

Steady paycheck – It’s usually consistent hourly pay, so it helps with bills even if the job itself isn’t enjoyable

Cons

Pay and raises are disappointing. The starting pay is okay for quick work, but raises are minimal and not guaranteed to match your effort or performance. There isn’t much room for real income growth, so it can feel like you’re stuck at the same rate.
