Pros

Best CEO, Alan Schnitzer. As a dedicated professional and proud 20-year Travelers employee, I can confidently say that this company has been more than just a workplace — it has been a true partner in every season of my life. Travelers has consistently provided the flexibility, support, and resources needed to maintain a healthy and fulfilling work-life balance, empowering employees to bring their very best to both their careers and personal lives. The outstanding benefits and support systems provide employees and their families with the security and peace of mind they deserve, while a genuine culture of work-life balance ensures that leadership values the whole person, not just the professional. Travelers is also an industry leader at the forefront of innovation — leveraging advanced technology to transform how we work, perform at the highest level, and deliver best-in-class experiences that make a meaningful difference for every customer and partner we serve. If you are looking for a company where you can grow, make a lasting impact, and thrive both personally and professionally, I wholeheartedly recommend Travelers — an undeniable choice for employees who want to be part of something truly exceptional

Pros

We receive continuous training to stay up to date with new state regulations and market trends. My colleagues make the day go by quickly. The benefits are very reasonable. There is room for career growth if you know how to network. I appreciate their consistent push for community volunteer opportunities.

Cons

The personal lines department seems to be falling apart right now. Issues with the internal systems are resulting in underwriters doing multiple jobs and becoming a dumping ground for all agent issues even if they aren't underwriting related. I don't feel that the directors are truly expressing to the senior leadership team the impact that all these issues are having on the mental health and quality of life for the employees that are on the front lines trying to maintain a good reputation for the company. It's sad to see how quickly this department has gone downhill and the amount of quality underwriters that are jumping ship for different departments or different companies all together. What's even sadder it that no one with authority seems to care, or listen, when concerns are brought forth. I truly advise anyone considering applying for any position within the personal insurance department to hold off until things start to change - it's not worth the mental anguish that you'll experience.
