Having been with this company for 15 years, I can say with confidence that it is an organization that truly invests in its people. From my early development as a claims professional, to my growth as an underwriter, and on to my current position, I have been recognized for superior customer service, I have been consistently mentored and guided every step of the way. The leadership here is exceptional — not only in driving professional excellence, but in showing genuine care for employees on a personal level. My direct supervisors have gone above and beyond during difficult times in my life, demonstrating a level of compassion that is rare in any workplace. I am proud to be part of a company that values both its employees and the customers we serve.

Workload can be demanding during peak seasons

We receive continuous training to stay up to date with new state regulations and market trends. My colleagues make the day go by quickly. The benefits are very reasonable. There is room for career growth if you know how to network. I appreciate their consistent push for community volunteer opportunities.

The personal lines department seems to be falling apart right now. Issues with the internal systems are resulting in underwriters doing multiple jobs and becoming a dumping ground for all agent issues even if they aren't underwriting related. I don't feel that the directors are truly expressing to the senior leadership team the impact that all these issues are having on the mental health and quality of life for the employees that are on the front lines trying to maintain a good reputation for the company. It's sad to see how quickly this department has gone downhill and the amount of quality underwriters that are jumping ship for different departments or different companies all together. What's even sadder it that no one with authority seems to care, or listen, when concerns are brought forth. I truly advise anyone considering applying for any position within the personal insurance department to hold off until things start to change - it's not worth the mental anguish that you'll experience.
