Pros

Good experience with a large name to put on your resume. Company Car. Best pay in the industry.

Cons

They rob from you! During a catastrophe time, they'll pay Cat Team members to work 7 days a week but refuse to even offer over time for regular adjusters in the affected areas. They pressure you to work 7 days a week and then if you say no, due to religion, family etc, they threaten you! No work/Life balance at all. Turnaround is insanely high. They'd rather keep paying the management who does nothing then pay their hardworking employees a dime for working 7 days a week. Multiple ethics violations for forcing employees to work 7 days a week and punishing those who refuse. Do not believe a word they say in interviews. They have someone in Connecticut write positive reviews all day long. They are all lying.

Pros

We receive continuous training to stay up to date with new state regulations and market trends. My colleagues make the day go by quickly. The benefits are very reasonable. There is room for career growth if you know how to network. I appreciate their consistent push for community volunteer opportunities.

Cons

The personal lines department seems to be falling apart right now. Issues with the internal systems are resulting in underwriters doing multiple jobs and becoming a dumping ground for all agent issues even if they aren't underwriting related. I don't feel that the directors are truly expressing to the senior leadership team the impact that all these issues are having on the mental health and quality of life for the employees that are on the front lines trying to maintain a good reputation for the company. It's sad to see how quickly this department has gone downhill and the amount of quality underwriters that are jumping ship for different departments or different companies all together. What's even sadder it that no one with authority seems to care, or listen, when concerns are brought forth. I truly advise anyone considering applying for any position within the personal insurance department to hold off until things start to change - it's not worth the mental anguish that you'll experience.
