Pros

Great Benefits / Salary is at upper end for most all adjusting jobs. Probably 1 of 2 best paying companies for adjusters. However, no raises or bonus (even after several years of employment) unless you are top performer.

Cons

Upper MGMT has no respect for employees and has look down their nose attitude. / No raises, bonus, or compensation of any kind at year end unless you are a top performer (5 people out of a group of 50) / no appreciation for long hours / heavy burden placed on a few adjusters in a department and there is no compensation, respect, or additional pay for those that this falls on. There is some room to move around but mgmt usually knows who they will put in the spot when it's posted. This is a company where brown nosing goes a long way! Work environment is almost prison like. It is frowned upon to talk with your coworkers or be away from your cube for more than a minute at a time. The list goes on- this is a great place if you desire to come in, sit in a cube, run as hard as you can everyday, and go home. Very much don't ask for anything or complain / Their attitude is you have a job and we can replace you.

Pros

We receive continuous training to stay up to date with new state regulations and market trends. My colleagues make the day go by quickly. The benefits are very reasonable. There is room for career growth if you know how to network. I appreciate their consistent push for community volunteer opportunities.

Cons

The personal lines department seems to be falling apart right now. Issues with the internal systems are resulting in underwriters doing multiple jobs and becoming a dumping ground for all agent issues even if they aren't underwriting related. I don't feel that the directors are truly expressing to the senior leadership team the impact that all these issues are having on the mental health and quality of life for the employees that are on the front lines trying to maintain a good reputation for the company. It's sad to see how quickly this department has gone downhill and the amount of quality underwriters that are jumping ship for different departments or different companies all together. What's even sadder it that no one with authority seems to care, or listen, when concerns are brought forth. I truly advise anyone considering applying for any position within the personal insurance department to hold off until things start to change - it's not worth the mental anguish that you'll experience.
