Pros
Great benefits! (401K, Health, Dental, Pension, Paid Time Off); I as impressed to see how generous the company is at investing in charitable organizations such as United Way, Habitat for Humanity, and Jr. Achievement to name a few. Employee participation is highly encouraged.
Cons
Many of the positive company reviews for Travelers are from employees located in Headquarters - Hartford, Ct. However, the Houston office is nothing to be desired. At many levels, management has turned a blind eye to the high work load and poor morale that hovers over this department. As a result, turnover is excessive!! Seventeen employees have left the company (from this department alone) since January 2013. When employees leave, their work load is distributed (unevenly) to the remaining employees, most of whom have been with the company less than a year. Training sucks! If you ask 3 different people the same question you will get 3 completely different answers. I won't bother getting into the office politics but just know that it is a bit extreme in the Houston office.
