Pros

Outstanding starting salary as an entry level employee, option of "cross lines" movement to stay challenged after you've exhausted yourself in your current role, the last resort option to go into red alert mode and take state-protected Stress Leave

Cons

Sink or Swim environment from the moment you are activated within the claims system, minimal individual assistance from a designated training resource. Performance strictly graded by your ability to call a claimant / worker / insured within a designated time frame; salary increases and bonuses not based on experience, extra specialty work performed, or seniority; requirements to take on additional work not within your job description with little to no recognition or monetary compensation. An absolute GUARANTEE that your work-life balance will be eliminated completely within a year of hire. Workflow developments designed to streamline the claims resolution process are implemented at a level unfamiliar with individual state requirements, and therefore create inefficiency.

Pros

Timely communication from Talend acqisition team. Scheduling the interviews with detailed information was very helpful. The interviewers were warm and supportive which made the technical and behavioral interviews feel comfortable to answer. Great company culture and familiar faces made a full time return after 10 years as consultant is very exciting.

Cons

Room for improvement regarding response time after each interview rounds.

Pros

We receive continuous training to stay up to date with new state regulations and market trends. My colleagues make the day go by quickly. The benefits are very reasonable. There is room for career growth if you know how to network. I appreciate their consistent push for community volunteer opportunities.

Cons

The personal lines department seems to be falling apart right now. Issues with the internal systems are resulting in underwriters doing multiple jobs and becoming a dumping ground for all agent issues even if they aren't underwriting related. I don't feel that the directors are truly expressing to the senior leadership team the impact that all these issues are having on the mental health and quality of life for the employees that are on the front lines trying to maintain a good reputation for the company. It's sad to see how quickly this department has gone downhill and the amount of quality underwriters that are jumping ship for different departments or different companies all together. What's even sadder it that no one with authority seems to care, or listen, when concerns are brought forth. I truly advise anyone considering applying for any position within the personal insurance department to hold off until things start to change - it's not worth the mental anguish that you'll experience.
