It was a great place to be a summer intern. I wish I would have had more of an oppertunity to stay in touch... - Records Management Intern Travelers Employee Review

Pros

Management was very transparent. I worked during the time of the National Repulican Convention and our office was used to assist with security. The entire situation had the potential to be very stressful, but instead was handled very well and the culture and climate at Travelers is very positive and team orientated.

Cons

Half of the headquarters is located in CT which made it very challenging to have a strong team. We did lots of meetins via online, but it's not the same as in person.

Pros

We receive continuous training to stay up to date with new state regulations and market trends. My colleagues make the day go by quickly. The benefits are very reasonable. There is room for career growth if you know how to network. I appreciate their consistent push for community volunteer opportunities.

Cons

The personal lines department seems to be falling apart right now. Issues with the internal systems are resulting in underwriters doing multiple jobs and becoming a dumping ground for all agent issues even if they aren't underwriting related. I don't feel that the directors are truly expressing to the senior leadership team the impact that all these issues are having on the mental health and quality of life for the employees that are on the front lines trying to maintain a good reputation for the company. It's sad to see how quickly this department has gone downhill and the amount of quality underwriters that are jumping ship for different departments or different companies all together. What's even sadder it that no one with authority seems to care, or listen, when concerns are brought forth. I truly advise anyone considering applying for any position within the personal insurance department to hold off until things start to change - it's not worth the mental anguish that you'll experience.
