Pros

-good benefits in terms of health, 401k, generous PTO and purchase of PTO ability -Compared to some competitors- no fear of company "going under"

Cons

-No flexibility-dependent upon your job title and what dept. you are in. Work/life balance is just a sentence on the website as far as I am concerned. No flextime, flexplace, or work from home-it is misleading on the website. -Rogue managers enforcing fictional policies that have no place in the modern workplace (ie. confusing snow closing procedures, job arrival times, certain overtime and human resource policies). -Extreme corporate politics at multiple levels from small to midlevel management all the way to the top. -Career advancement limited depending upon your direct manager. They have the ability to "keep and hold you" in your position using various stalling and performance review tactics. -Advice to potential hires: be very very careful of what dept. you are taking a job in, feel out the manager and the environment, there are real horror stories here in this company. Lots of sweeping under the rug at the lower levels so be careful.

Pros

Timely communication from Talend acqisition team. Scheduling the interviews with detailed information was very helpful. The interviewers were warm and supportive which made the technical and behavioral interviews feel comfortable to answer. Great company culture and familiar faces made a full time return after 10 years as consultant is very exciting.

Cons

Room for improvement regarding response time after each interview rounds.

Pros

We receive continuous training to stay up to date with new state regulations and market trends. My colleagues make the day go by quickly. The benefits are very reasonable. There is room for career growth if you know how to network. I appreciate their consistent push for community volunteer opportunities.

Cons

The personal lines department seems to be falling apart right now. Issues with the internal systems are resulting in underwriters doing multiple jobs and becoming a dumping ground for all agent issues even if they aren't underwriting related. I don't feel that the directors are truly expressing to the senior leadership team the impact that all these issues are having on the mental health and quality of life for the employees that are on the front lines trying to maintain a good reputation for the company. It's sad to see how quickly this department has gone downhill and the amount of quality underwriters that are jumping ship for different departments or different companies all together. What's even sadder it that no one with authority seems to care, or listen, when concerns are brought forth. I truly advise anyone considering applying for any position within the personal insurance department to hold off until things start to change - it's not worth the mental anguish that you'll experience.
