Pros
Consummate professionals. Great benefits (medical, dental, vision and retirement) and people to work with. Fixed schedule 12/8 hour shifts. Wide variety of positions to fill and lots of room for advancement.
Cons
Constant training from everyday briefs to annual training. Lots of rules and regulations. Under constant and direct supervision to the point of micromanagement. Adherence to strict standards and regulations. The job of watching out for the safety and security of inmates and staff has fallen by the wayside. Too many distractions of inefficient computer systems/programs combined with "busy" work to keep employees "on task."
