1. Work is vaguely related to quantitative research and doubtfully transferable to other companies. You are a monkey force to implement and test a great amount of alphas from papers or from your head. They built a high-level platform you will use to develop and test your alphas but the real quant stuff will be out of your reach. 2. The core idea of the GAR program - to collect alpha ideas from people all around the world paying little for it. The base salary is almost nonexistent. If you find a good alpha - a bonus awaits you. Other reviewers called it small but I think that laughable is more appropriate here. If the paper or idea you checked did not work out or correlated with existent alphas - you worked for free. For me such an approach always looked like borderline fraud. 3. The GAR contract stated that it is part-time, but initially it should be quite more if you want to not get kicked out.
