Pros

1st day benefits Experience available above your current position Ample opportunities for cross training

Cons

Expectation of performing duties not in job description Company hires outside, underqualified people at lower salaries with the lure of opportunity of gaining experience, then burns them out Below avg raises and benefit rollback for qualified clinical employees, while giving huge raises and benefits to employees with zero education or training Huge management turnover every 5-7 years Horrible communication between management and supervisors and supervisors and employees Extremely cliquey and corrupt. If you want to be treated well, you MUST interact outside of work.

Pros

Time and a half call pay when you're on call and get called in. Frequent Incentives and hourly incentives for specialty units.

Cons

Managers have favorites and enable them to continue unsafe performance. Certain employees are held to rules relating to tardiness and absences, others are not. Maternity leave (short term disability) is not great
