Pros

People (other than management) work there butts off, and are generally just nice people Pay is standard for the area Easy to pick up overtime (but be prepared to have an unsafe patient to nurse ratio)

Cons

Training for new grads is AWFUL and usually precepted by burnt out nurses who only precept to make extra money on the hour Management don’t help when staffing is low Patients are usually left in their own filth due to horrible staffing and lack of PCAs- Nurses don’t have the time due to short staffing to properly turn patients, change them, give them the attention they need/deserve. Bethesda north is a filthy working environment- EVS frequently short staffed so trash piles up, floors sticky, gnats everywhere.

Pros

Time and a half call pay when you're on call and get called in. Frequent Incentives and hourly incentives for specialty units.

Cons

Managers have favorites and enable them to continue unsafe performance. Certain employees are held to rules relating to tardiness and absences, others are not. Maternity leave (short term disability) is not great
