Pros
You will be exposed to a wide variety of assets and capital structures which is rare in an entry level position. There are a lot of young people in the financial analyst role, so if you are coming right out of college it is a fun place to work.
Cons
Not a lot of growth potential and the work can become monotonous. I worked in the asset management department as an analyst and learned a lot, but it is a lot of number crunching.
