Pros
I was able to work a lot of hours and I enjoyed most of my coworkers. I liked the early start hours and being done by 3:30 when overtime wasn't needed. I also liked that my paycheck was direct deposit into my bank account.
Cons
Wages were low for the seasonal workers (to be expected). I was regularly chewed out for not working 'fast enough' even though I had done cleaning work for years and was working as fast as I could. I had problems with my male coworkers, and when I talked to the manager about these issues, no action was taken to prevent anything from happening to me. One man in particular (who was twice my age) would frequently end up alone in apartment units, where he would stop working and would instead just watch me work. My team would be split up at times because we had to work fast so we would trickle into different units as we'd finish. This man would not respect me when I said I did not want to have a casual relationship with him on any level, and went so far as to talk to me about his fantasies of me naked. He never actually did anything, but I did not feel safe at work or driving home from work and had nightmares about this man forcing himself on me for months after employment. I talked to management about it, and they did nothing. My other favorite thing was the unreasonable overtime that was required. Since management had to get overtime approved before they could offer it, many of my coworkers would pull overnighters trying to get caught up on units before tenants would move in. Word of these employees drinking on the job (alcohol provided by supervisors, no less) seemed highly unprofessional.
