Pros

Good benefits including Health, Dental, Vision and 401K with company matching. Easy to get on, hard to get fired unless you just blatantly commit customer fraud like ghosting lawns, completely disregard rules like reckless driving/speeding, etc.

Cons

Trugreen is a giant in the industry. As is the case with many companies their size, they are completely disconnected from the employess-especially the lawn techs. Techs are routinely expected to do upwards of $17-18,000 per day. In many routes thats somewhere between 35-40 stops. The actual physical demand is never considered, only the financial goal. You're expected to complete every stop every day while ALSO meeting sales goals, even though they have an entire staff of full time sales guys. Then, once they've pushed these high numbers all year and blown through the customer base they lay all the techs off every year, right before the holidays. While you're laid off they don't cover your insurance, so you get a huge bill for that which you have to pay by January or you lose your insurance. Their starting pay is one of the lowest in the industry, and raises only come once a year. The average raise there equates to somewhere between .25 to .30 cents, so it takes years to reach a point where you're making decent money. I left as I was approaching my 10th year and I still wasn't making $17 an hour. There are much smaller companies out there paying that for entry level guys with no experience.

Pros

- Very very easy to move up in the company. If you dedicate a couple years and show skill in sales you can move up to a sales manager position extremely fast. If you are willing to move the opportunity to move up is even significantly easier and faster. - Almost all of management started at the bottom and worked their way up, if possible they always hire from within. - Good money, get out what you put in. - Direct Management is great, local and even regional management is almost even fantastic, but any higher then that becomes out of touch and very frustrating to (albeit indirectly) work with.

Cons

- Inconsistent at times about expectations, at times asking for one thing then immediately needing the other. Can be frustrated to be pulled in so many directions, but not even remotely unmanageable. - Lot's of hours, especially in management. Prime time? (March-End of May) Say goodbye to your personal life! Mandatory 1/2 day Saturdays, definitely a grind but worth it. - Frustrating policies and illogical outlook on what success looks like.
