Pros

Plenty of opportunity due to constantly evolving market strategies and management structure changes. Good benefits and PTO. Pension plan still being offered.

Cons

As a former BB&T associate who watched this company go through the Truist merger, the culture has completely flopped and no longer resembles what it used to be. Very big corporate now. Cut-throat culture nobody's job is safe even as a high performer. Revolving door of leadership changes and constantly changing 'vision' and 'mission' and 'initiatives' that are short lived. Ask you to buy in to a strategic initiative which two years later no longer exists neither do any of the leaders that led the charge. Beginning in 2026 Truist 'mandated' full in office expectations even for remote-centric jobs with no legitimate reasoning or rationale for why this mandate was put in place other than to foster a better 'culture' - absolute nonsense.

Pros

Great benefits and pay with very good training programs, lots of opportunities for growth

Cons

The culture struggles to figure itself out after the big merger. Lots of senior employees were bitter about younger/new hires getting paid well. Lots of dealing with hierarchal mindsets that get in the way of the actual work.
