Pros

This has probably been my favorite company so far in my career (out of 5 companies that I've worked at). The team and broader organization are all very friendly and collaborative. I think people here take their roles seriously and want to do great work, but are not overbearing about it and understand that we are all moving the ball forward together. I haven't really encountered any drama or petty-ness that I've experienced at other large companies which has really been refreshing. I also feel a great deal of trust from my leadership team to be able to do my job and lean into my strengths. It doesn't feel like I'm also expected to be a full-time researcher, content guru, and product manger here because we partner with other team members who focus on those aspects. I've worked at companies where you were expected to do everything and it was exhausting and made even the parts that I did enjoy doing miserable. Benefits seem pretty decent as well. You can purchase additional time off which is nice. You also get I think 10 sick days a year in a separate bucket which is reassuring. It gives enough flexibility that you don't have to give up vacation time off if you get sick. The older I get, the more I value those nice-to-have WLB benefits.

Cons

4 days in office a week. There's days where I'm in the office only to be on video calls with people in other offices. There's also weeks where it would be nicer to have 2 wfh days a week when you have stuff going on at home. They seem pretty flexible about it for now and I'm really hoping they don't try to push for 5 days in office because that will definitely make this job WAY less appealing.

Pros

Opportunity to build long-term relationships with physicians and medical professionals to make a meaningful impact by helping them achieve financial security and life goals. Ability to develop expertise in a niche market, creating strong professional differentiation.

Cons

Expect high-performance pressure to meet revenue, asset growth, and client acquisition goals. Long sales cycle, as developing trust with physicians and converting prospects into clients can take months or years. Developing strong relationships requires effective networking, prospecting, and event attendance beyond traditional work hours.

Pros

Pay and good people (whatever is left). Nice amentities.

Cons

Things started going downhill in 2023. New senior leader took over our department and created the most hostile environment I have ever experienced which was motivated unchecked by leaders above them. Too many good leaders left and what is left are the most incompetent and toxic leadership you will ever see. There is a reason the bank isn't doing so good and it's reputation at this point is unsalavageable. Another merger won't save Truist and offshoring jobs to India is an attempt to milk the company until the well runs dry and executives abandon ship with steep payouts.
