Pros
If you prefer to be an individual contributor, are motivated by incentives and money, are able to persuade and get into the "good ol' boys" club- this may be a company you can tolerate working for. Admittedly, the wages are comparable to other financials and banks- if you can sell products and services without regard for the well being of your members- you'll stand to make good commission. However, it's every person for themselves. It is a sales culture, if you can't perform it will impact your performance review.
Cons
The culture does not encourage support from the branch and back-office functions. The sales culture sets a clear division between departments. The SVP of Marketing is extremely difficult to work with with no regard for other employees feelings or willingness to collaborate and work cohesively with other managers or team members. Additionally, the male dominated Senior Team does not model the type of leadership worthy of following which leads to overall employee dissatisfaction. The company does not invest or encourage employee development resulting in poorly managed departments and managers who are unequipped to effectively lead a team.
