Job Security. They also have their own retirement for staff that they invest into so that when one retires, you have two retirements.
Cons
They promote based on who they know rather than one who has more experience. Upper management in certain departments are known to be racist and sexist. It is harder for someone of color, other than white to hold a higher position regardless of education and years of experience. Some upper management show favoritism.
