Prospective employees should know that we will never view being open, candid, and honest as a sign of being petty or desperate. I have no issues addressing your feedback directly, in the open.
Turbine Labs was started five years ago, by me, with no outside investment. In the last 12 months, our company has doubled in size, both in revenues and in headcount (to nearly 30 people) for two reasons: the dedication of our people and our commitment to our customers.
Make no mistake - Turbine Labs is a startup. Startups are environments of change. And startup environments are not always a good fit for people who are not used to that dynamic. For a few individuals who left our company between 7-12 months ago, parting ways was best for everyone involved, and we hope they were able to find career opportunities that better suited them.
One year ago, our company was half the size, and our resources were half as well. Austerity and good business practices enabled us to double in size, which enabled everyone who shared the vision to share the rewards, some of which are new this year:
*For our size, Turbine Labs pays at or above market rate in every function (analytics, sales, engineering, and administration), commensurate with experience.
*Turbine Labs offers generous stock options grants to every employee - including part time employees and interns.
*Turbine Labs offers unlimited PTO, as well as flexible work schedules.
*Turbine Labs pays 100% of medical health care premiums for every full-time employee.
*Turbine Labs issues every senior analytics professional a Mac laptop as well as a 27” external monitor, so they can work in a collaborative environment, in our lounge area, or remotely, if needed.
*Our software is patent-pending, and our on-site software development team includes world-class engineering talent and leadership previously employed at IBM Watson, Trimble, and other leading engineering organizations.
*Platform development occurs hand-in-hand between our engineering and analytics teams.
*Turbine Labs has had zero employee turnover since January, 2019.
The people that join our company today quickly and clearly see and experience an environment and opportunity that starkly contradicts your review, which is not to say your feedback is not valuable. Your contribution helped us get to where we are. At the same time, we are not close to being finished when it comes to growing, changing, improving, and learning. Which is why we ask each prospective employee to read all our reviews, so they can make their own judgement.
