Pros

Pay is pretty decent, you can expect raises. Benefits are actually pretty awesome. They offer maternity leave, although only 6 weeks. Usually managers are quick to accommodate you and your needs. They have catered lunch every Wednesday (HQ only), they give you paid time off to vote, and paid time off to volunteer. A lot of jobs offer some remote work during the week. They help with patenting if you're into innovating. I personally like that I can telework 3 days out of the week.

Cons

-There are too many people doing jobs that don't fit their job descriptions, or higher ups that have their hands in too many things. I think they used to be a smaller company, but now that they've grown, and are hiring more people, it's confusing for no reason. there are like 25 "VPs of ____' not necessary. Draw the line. -maternity leave is only 6 weeks. Military fathers get 12! For as much they spend on other benefits, it would make more sense to dial back on some of them and give us more maternity leave. -senior level management receives these random awards (CEO/COO etc) and i haven't spoken to any single one of them ever. what do they even do. ive never even heard of you. -I did not know my position was a contractor position until weeks after I was hired. that would have changed my decision to accept. -if you have to go to a doctors appt, you cant just go and that's it like other jobs. you have to make up that time that you missed driving to/from, and at the appt afterward. Never had to make up for a doctors appointment before. -Contract work can be rewarding, but there is a lot of micromanaging. I like what I do, but not if I have to be babysat -a lot of engineers are made to do work that is NOT in their job description. if you need people to do that other task, hire people FOR that task.

Dear Current Employee - Thank you for the review and shout outs on pay, benefits and flexibility. As you noted we are growing (and growing rapidly), creating additional needs for leadership and experience. You are correct we offer 6 weeks of paid Maternity Leave that can be used anytime within the first year. Additionally, Two Six affords the entire Short Term Disability premium for all employees, creating the opportunity for an additional 5-7 weeks of paid leave. As a side note, I'd love to speak with you directly about the 'Contractor' status. Sounds like there may be some confusion around your employment status and I'd welcome working with you on that one. Ping me anytime at tonia.patt@twosixtech.com

Dear Current Employee - Thank you for the 5 Star Review. I'd like to encourage you to reach out to our Benefits Lead or your Human Resources Business Partner. You may not have the most current information on our 401k Plan and flexibility options to optimize your PTO. Our 401k plan does allow self-directed investments and our 401k plan also accepts rollovers from prior jobs.

Pros

High Base Salary High growth opportunities Really smart people work here Above average benefits They do actually care about their employees overall, if something outside of work or something out of your control turns your life upside down, they do care. If you work at corporate directly or DMV area, it's definitely a lot better

Cons

Inconsistent workload (Dayton/Beavercreek Location) Long-term stability problems (Dayton/Beavercreek Location) There are some managers you want to avoid, unless you are really good at communicating issues, otherwise they are quite dismissive and they put a lot of faith in AI tools. If you are a senior level engineer there is an expectation to perform at a high level at all times, and you will be asked to do tasking that you may have not originally signed up for, but hey that comes with the high pay. Getting approval for conference/training is not great, this point in particular was disappointing for me, because I am a bit of a celebrity in my domain and I would figure that the company would use that to their advantage to market the company.

Dear Former Employee - Thank you for the 4 Start Review and specific feedback. Somethings we can take forward and discuss how to improve. What stood out for me - "they do care". We most certainly do care about our employees and know they have a life outside of work, one that should be prioritized.
