Pros
Telework, alternate and flexible work schedules. Good federal healthcare benefits.
Cons
Despite flexible schedules, meetings are held as early as 8 AM. And if you have an alternate work schedule, you will sometimes have to be responsive or attend meetings because of the extreme workload/demands. There is an underlying culturing of "matrixing" where although you are assigned to one supervisor on paper, you work for 2 or more. You often find yourself doing jobs of multiple people. There is also an unspoken expectation that you will be available after hours to respond to email or are putting in extra hours (beyond 40/week) to get work done. It's very unhealthy and causes incredible levels of stress which for me has manifested into headaches/migraines, chest pains, numbness in the right arm and face.
