Pros
I really enjoyed my time as a tutor. Management cares deeply about student employees and helped us grow as tutors. They are also very understanding about class schedules. It is also very fulfilling to play a supportive role towards other students and see them gain confidence in their writing abilities. You also get paid whether students come for appointments or not, which is very nice.
Cons
Writing tutors are not paid for prep time, unlike other types of tutors. I spent a lot of my own, unpaid time preparing for appointments based on whatever the student wrote they needed help with in the appointment box. Tutoring is hard work and we should be paid more!
