Pros
Overall my experience working as a staff member at UCSB was a good one. The campus is beautiful, many options to eat or go for walks. Everyone is friendly and laid back. Students treat staff and faculty with much respect.
Cons
Training takes about a year, since each quarter is unique and varies. They tend not to overlap employees which means when one person leaves, the next comes in and must figure things out on their own.The pay is not very good when comparing to other UC's, and considering the cost of living in Santa Barbara. This is why there is a lot of movement within the university itself. Typically employees are seeking higher pay and move quite frequently within different departments. Paying for parking is also a con.
