Pros

With the 2013 merger of University of Colorado Hospital with Poudre Valley Health System, some of the benefits remained and there were still many hard-working employees left from the previous PVHS system when I left that remembered and lived the PVHS values and culture that had made it such a great employer and healthcare provider for the community.

Cons

Failing to replace employees that left in favor of eliminating entire positions and redistributing the workload. Adding additional managers and supervisors who spend more time tracking performance metrics and commuting back and forth to meetings to discuss them instead of spending more time on site or on the floors providing guidance and support to their teams---None of this seemed to actually improve the numbers, let alone employee engagement or patient care.

Pros

I work with amazing co-workers and patients. Everyone is great and hard-working but fun environment.

Cons

Always a lot of work but, job security, right? Compensation is less than other hospitals but the opportunity for advancement in a teaching hospital makes up for it.

Pros

High Acuity patients Maintain Skillset Job security

Cons

Too many patients in a day and not enough time to spend with them. Minimal admin time to manage InBasket and patient needs. Frequently need to juggle a full and complex patient schedule with urgent test results and care coordination. Have to use personal PTO to cover holidays and any time the clinic is closed due to circumstances outside of our control. (weather, power outages, etc) Annual performance Bonuses are now being determined by online patient feedback scores.
