Pros

The job is interesting and there are always projects to participate in. You can make a big difference for the patients who are generally grateful. Nephrologist team is great! Most of the surgeons are okay to work with.

Cons

The manager is a NIGHTMARE. They can’t keep kidney transplant coordinators. Always expecting you to do more and more (in addition to your base 40-45 hours working per week). Recently expanded out of state outreach requiring staff to do overnights, recently added call responsibilities that can no longer be completed from home you must now go in to the hospital, recently absorbed another hospitals transplant program after they shut down with out any intention of hiring more staff. Chronically short staffed and expected to perform multiple peoples jobs.

Pros

High Acuity patients Maintain Skillset Job security

Cons

Too many patients in a day and not enough time to spend with them. Minimal admin time to manage InBasket and patient needs. Frequently need to juggle a full and complex patient schedule with urgent test results and care coordination. Have to use personal PTO to cover holidays and any time the clinic is closed due to circumstances outside of our control. (weather, power outages, etc) Annual performance Bonuses are now being determined by online patient feedback scores.
