Pros

Good benefits Good doctors Good research institution

Cons

I have been fighting for an equity raise for over a year after my supervisor discovered I was still at step 1 in the salary scale, much lower than market value. Even though I've been in this position for 8 years and have the support of my supervisors, HR thinks a 2-step increase is more than sufficient. After getting a lateral transfer to a different department, I took on a much more demanding and challenging workload. I wanted to negotiate higher pay as to reflect my new roles and responsibilities, but this was vehemently denied with strange excuses. When I refused to sign the job offer until they agreed to some modicum of fair compensation, the ex-CFO held the PO to my much-needed work computer hostage. (I could not believe the level of petty). After reviewing other job titles, I thought I qualified for a job reclassified, this was also denied. I was told that the wording of the JD just needs to be tweaked. WHY? New employees working in positions below mine are receiving higher pay. I just have no words for how discouraged and undervalued I feel as an employee who genuinely loves her job here.
