Pros

Full disclosure: I work in public relations so it's naturally my job to promote the company. Yet Kronos, our culture, and our leaders make my job SO easy because what you read is what you get. Our executive team is genuine, transparent, and they lead by example. Kronites readily raise their hands to tell their personal stories about why they love the company -- so our team can easily find Kronos culture champions to go on record publicly. And maybe most importantly: the talent at the company is second-to-none. Trust is a key tenant of our culture, and that's enabled because of the thousands of high-performers we have across the company. We get stuff done and always start from a place of doing the right thing for each other, our company, our customers, and our communities. I've never worked with a more talented and committed group of people. Personally speaking, I've been given opportunities to grow that I'd never dreamed possible just five years ago. I've also become a better and more confident leader because of the focus Kronos puts on managers, specifically with our Manager Effectiveness Index program. (All managers are rated twice a year by their direct reports to find areas where they can improve and enhance communication so we can all best work together -- I was terrified before I got my first scores, but it's open my eyes to so many ways to be a better manager, not the least of which is simply forcing conversations that might otherwise gone un-had.) Benefits are thoughtful, pay is extremely competitive, and there are plenty of opportunities for recognition. Our office is awesome, and the company provides many opportunities to give back to the community. Simply put: I love it here.

Cons

We continue to grow at a tremendous pace, which means of course there's plenty of work to do. I only wish I had time to do even more. Yet while the occasional nights or weekend I might log some hours, the stress-level is SUBSTANTIALLY lower than any other job I've worked because (a) I love the work and (b) I know my team and manager have my back if I ever need help.

Pros

UKG offers one of the better benefits packages I’ve experienced. The healthcare options are competitive, the 401(k) match is strong, and the family leave benefits are excellent. The company also promotes flexible PTO, which is appealing on paper and can be beneficial depending on your team and manager. Overall, the compensation and benefits package is a major strength.

Cons

While UKG offers attractive benefits, the day-to-day work environment can be challenging. In my experience, the culture among peers was often toxic, and leadership was not always supportive when concerns were raised. The company promotes flexible PTO, but in practice it felt heavily managed, with little to no ability to take time off between Thanksgiving and mid-January. Compensation also lacked consistency. Employees performing the same role with similar responsibilities could have significantly different pay, creating frustration and concerns about fairness. Career growth was another challenge. There was no clearly defined career progression roadmap, making it difficult to understand what was required for advancement. Many employees should expect to remain in the same position for an extended period unless opportunities happened to open up. Finally, the company experiences frequent organizational changes and shifting priorities. The venture capital ownership contributes to a fast-paced environment where restructures and changing initiatives are common, making it difficult to maintain stability and long-term direction.
