Pros

The saying goes, "if it sounds too good to be true, then it is." I'm here to say Ultimate Software is 100% real! Ultimate really does put its people first. It's not just the comprehensive benefits package (100% company-paid healthcare premiums, 35% matching for 401(k), restricted stock units, service days so we can spend time giving back to charity, free monthly meals and treats, and a lot more than I can adequately list here) and competitive salaries. It's the everyday things. You're respected among the office by your colleagues (no matter your "level" in the organization), you can provide your opinion or pitch new ideas without worrying about backlash (feedback is encouraged), and you're empowered to take educated chances and try out new concepts and processes. When I first met members of the UltiFamily, the place, the people, and the job seemed too good to be true, as though everything would be great up front, only for things to change the minute I walked in. That's not the case at all! I've been here for months, but I'm still pinching myself! The feeling is real. The people are real. Ultimate really is the Best Place to Work!

Cons

I really can't think of any cons to report. Sure, an on-site gym would be great. But if that's the biggest con, then I really shouldn't complain!

Pros

There was once a great company named Ultimate Software, it was destroyed by a hostile takeover from H&F, a private equity firm, and a merger with Kronos to become UKG. There are very few Pros since that time.

Cons

When this company was Ultimate Software, prior to the takeover from H&F and the merger with Kronos, it was a world class company with top shelf people. The company Motto was "People First" and they truly lived by that motto, never a layoff, great working environment and stealer benefits. Since the takeover and subsequent merger with Kronos, to become UKG this company has taken a path of "Money First", which is understandable given the greedy nature of Private Equity Firms like H&F. They have systematically closed most of the offices across the US and have been expanding their footprint in Noida India, for obvious reasons. The leadership that has been put in place by H&F is clearly focused on IPO. And we all know what that means, clean up the books and make the company look as good on paper as possible. Can you say "Lipstick on a Pig". This was once a great company when it was run by Scott and Viv but now it has gone the way of the Private Equity management and is heading for a great fall.
