Pros
Kronos was an amazing company with an incredibly caring company. Mr. Ain was a people-first leader who knew everyone's name, and genuinely cared for his employees.
Cons
After Kronos was forced to bail out Ultimate Software through this PE-driven. ill-conceived merger, things began to change. While Kronos was at the forefront of innovation, the Ulti products were old, not scalable, and held together with bubble gum. Ulti had the same number of customers as employees -- certainly not the sign of a successful company. The Ulti employees liked to spout about how great their culture was - but it was basically that typical internet startup from the early 2000s where making good products or profitable companies didn't matter. As long as the keg was flowing. Now the adults in the room from Kronos have had to try to fix the mess post-merger, and it's not going well. People are scared for their jobs and "yes men" are being promoted simply because they will say yes and drink the Kool Aid. Managers do not care about their employees - they only care about doing whatever it takes to save their own jobs. Sr. Management is finally getting rid of the dead weight from Ulti, with the termination of the last two remaining Ulti execs. Now maybe the company can re-focus on building strong products, delivering solutions that can scale globally, and rid itself once and for all of the entitled mess that Ulti brought to the table.
